Bismarck is the state capital of North
Dakota and lies along the Missouri River. The population is
slightly over 59,000. Bismarck has allot to offer any age.
There are two hospitals located in Bismarck. A nice selection of
dentists, optometrists, podiatrists, and other health care
businesses. A regional airport served by United, Allegiant, Delta
and Northwest.
Bismarck has a Tier II Junior A Hockey league team called the Bobcats
who play home games at the VFW Sports Center in Bismarck. The
Dakota Wizards Basketball team (NBA Development League) plays at the Civic Center
which also holds many other special events each year. Other areas
of interest are the Theodore Roosevelt Roughrider Hall of Fame, ND Heritage
Center, Dakota Zoo, Lewis and Clark Riverboat, many walking and biking trails, great shopping,
recreation on the Missouri river, winter skiing, golf in the summer, and
much much more. The Missouri River has great walleye fishing. Hunting for upland birds,
waterfowl and big game is also well known in North Dakota. |
