Located in one of the most productive areas of Guatemala’s Highlands, 40 Kms. From Guatemala City and 30 Kms. From Antigua Guatemala, this location enjoys magnificent climate all year around. The Farm is 1 Km. off pan American hwy.
There are 1,050 avocado trees, all from Mexican Hass cultivars, are yielding yearly averages of 160 pounds each in two harvests a year. Yield increases each year as trees mature and get larger. At this writing the average tree-age is 8 years, which assures many more years of production. Local prices are always rising as supply can’t keep up with demand. The fruit is exported throughout the Central American countries. Profit for last harvest was 300%.

One attractive and interesting feature is that demand for Avocado is such that the crop is sold standing, the buyers arrive periodically to pick up the pre-paid product.

The plantation has also several fruit trees that provide the owners with different kinds of fresh fruits all year round.  All of these trees have irrigation.

The farm is fully piped and equipped for drip irrigation.  The system allows for fertilizing and pest controls through the irrigation system; highest quality water is obtained from the farm’s own deep 2 artesian water wells.

Living on the premises is very comfortable, as there is a cozy cottage supplied with all the modern day amenities, such as gas stove, dishwasher, gas hot water heater, refrigerator, Direct TV Dish, Internet service is also available.  Also 24/7 electricity (220/120) is now considered standard in this part of rural Guatemala.  The surrounding area is owned and farmed by farmers who work the land.  The owner and his wife live on the premises and they assure they are virtually self-sufficient food-wise:  bread, salt, sugar and a few other items are purchased, all vegetables and fruits are ‘picked fresh’. At listing, farm has chickens, pigs and feeder calf.

Other information:

  • It costs about US$1,000/month to operate the farm, which includes labor, utilities and consumables.  At time of selling the farm, the name of the actual buyers of the fruit will be given to the new owner.

  • There are barns that are used for storage and animals.  These barns measure 20’ x 140’.
